Ever wonder what happens when a Hollywood star trades scripts for coffee beans?
Welcome to Free Rein Coffee in San Angelo, Texas where “Yellowstone” actor Cole Hauser swapped his cowboy hat for a barista apron. Yes, you read that right–Hauser himself was spotted taking orders and serving steaming cups of joe at the store!

Hauser and his partners, aimed to create a coffee brand that embodies the spirit of the West and caters to those who “Get Up and Get After It”.
Originally known as The Longhorn Coffee Company, Free Rein continues the 25 year history of small batch roasting on the premises. Artisanal blends are available as Cinna-Blend, Concho, San Angelo Sunrise, Pecos and Kona. The San Angelo Sunrise is a medium roast infused with cinnamon, turmeric, and a dash of black pepper–because who doesn’t like a little spice with their sunrise?

Nestled at 901 S. Oakes, with a commitment to quality, Free Rein is truly a community, neighborhood coffee shop! Their is limited seating inside and there is NO drive-thru. Yet, customers streamed inside constantly while I was there. The hangout is located behind the building. It’s a huge patio area where you can stretch your legs, mind your own business, or visit with friends. It was a welcome surprise!!

So, if you’re in San Angelo and your caffeine cravings are calling, swing by Free Rein Coffee. Who knows? You might just find yourself being served by a Hollywood cowboy!!
